Assignment 1 for IT Individual Report...

Actually me and my group member, Jane were very blur after Miss has already explained the detail of the assignment for the first time. We really can’t get what actually Miss wants us to do for our assignment. As a result, we need and this is a must we have to ask Miss again to help us solve our doubt in our mind that already exist since Miss start to explain for the first time. Luckily, Miss tries her best to explain again the detail to us. Thank you Miss. Afterward, we started to discuss about what and how we going to start our HTML webpage. During the process of doing our HTML webpage, we try to solve our problems by ourselves. However, sometimes both of us can’t find the error in the HTML codes; thus, we try asking our friend about our problems that we encountered. Finally, we succeed to create our own page by using the notepad. The most amazing thing is when we see the final output that we create by our own, I was thinking that…wow!!! Is amazing, we just need to encode the HTML codes in the right way, and then the webpage that we design will come out. I enjoying of seeing the output after we debugging the HTML codes in notepad. It was very fun and it stimulates my interest to continue debugging the HTML codes. I remember Miss did mention that we can try to play around the HTML codes in notepad.

The technologies and tools that we were using are notepad, internet explorer, bravehost, facebook, gmail, hotmail, blogger and notebook. At first, I even didn’t know there is a notepad in our computer programs. =.= After I taking this subject, I just know what is it about and what is the function for it. The advantage for notepad is we can design our own webpage by just encoding the correct HTML codes in notepad. We can create the webpage as simple as we can or as creative and colorful as we want. Just following our feel to create the webpage and go through it. While the disadvantage is we must encoding the correct HTML codes in notepad. If we miss out even just a code or we can’t remember what the HTML code is, then we can’t get the output that we want. Sometimes, we want to create the webpage as what we are thinking, but when we want to type the HTML codes in notepad, we didn’t know what the HTML codes are and how to use it. In addition, the advantage of internet explorer, bravehost, facebook, gmail or hotmail, and blogger help us to uploading or sending our page and link. Without these tools, we can’t put our webpage in internet and people will not be able to see it. Furthermore, our notebook is also very important because we need to use it for our references to type the HTML codes in notepad. If we didn’t know the HTML codes, even though we have those technologies to help us to upload, we also can’t create a webpage. Hahaha… Overall, now only I know that how to create the webpage and uploading the webpage in internet. I’m in the learning process…

On the other hand, the difficulty in debugging the HTML codes that we encountered is when we plan to put our three images in a horizontal line, we not sure what we suppose to key in for the HTML codes. Then I suggest that we type HALIGN to replace the VALIGN code, The reason I said that is because I think that VALIGN is means vertical align, so if we want to put the three images in a horizontal line, we type HALIGN as our HTML code (actually VALIGN is where we refer to the HTML code as we practice before to create the table). However, my partner doesn’t think so because she said HALIGN is quite weird when we pronounce it. Haha…Then she keep repeating pronounce HALIGN…halign…HaligN… @,@ After that, she said how about we just try and see what is going on after we typing HALIGN in notepad. As a result, we can’t see any changes in our webpage (may be we type wrongly HTML codes in notepad). =P The output for the two images is in a horizontal line and another image is under the two images. At last, we try to put the three images in a vertical line. One image is on the top left, one is on the center, and one is on the right bottom. Now only I knew that we can put (hr) to represent horizontal line. While another difficulty is about our images, we can’t saw our images when we uploading the webpage at first. Both of us didn’t know where the error is and we really can’t find it. Therefore, we were trying to ask friend for help. Luckily, we found Yu Wei, who is one of our friend know more about HTML codes rather than us successfully to solve our problems. Thank you Yu Wei. She stated that may be our images’ link was wrong, and then we follow her instruction and finally we got it. Last but not least, actually we want to put scenery as our background, but it is unsuitable because it does not fit the full screen; the full screen is filling up with four and the half similar images. Haiz…Finally, we choose to use creamy green color something like the color of “Petronas Logo” as our background color. Kaka…Actually, green color is the flavor color of my group memberàJane.

Well, since Miss already gave us two options to a registered free web server such as geocities.com or bravehost.com, so we choose one of them and then we registered an account in bravehost.com. The reason we choose bravehost.com is because we noticed that Miss is one of the member of it. Miss was using this free web server to upload our lecturer notes and announce any updated schedule to us. The problem is when we had sign up an account in bravehost.com, we are getting lost!!! We didn’t know where we suppose to go for the following steps before we upload our file. Fortunately, I try to ask my friend for help and again, we follow her instructions and we are getting into the track. Thanks again to Yu Wei, you help us a lot.

While uploading file to the web server is not a problem for me, it is just as usual as we uploading our photo in Friendster, Facebook or attaches a file in Hotmail. However, I had noticed that we failed to upload the biggest size of files or photos. May be there is a limitation in size of uploading the files. For instance, we failed to upload our files if the size of the file is bigger than 10.0 MB. Here is a suggestion to all my friends. Suppose that the size of the file is exceeding 10.0 MB and the file is saving in Microsoft Word 97-2003, then you can try to save your file in Microsoft Word 2007. The size of the file will be reducing compare with the size of the file that save in Microsoft Word 97-2003. This is one of my experiences when I can’t upload my file and send it to my lecturer last semester by using Hotmail account.

This is my first time creating my own blog as I already mention before. I create my blog by using my Google account. Once I have my own Google account, the process in creating a blog is an easy way for me because I just need to follow the steps that provided. As for the decoration of my profile and many other functions, I will try to learn it later than, just like what I am now learning how to explore in Facebook. (^,^)v

In conclusion, I had learned a lot about how to create a webpage by key in the correct HTML codes in notepad, what is the HTML codes means and what is the function of the HTML codes in notepad, explore Facebook and blogger, and much more knowledge that relate to this assignment. I am quite exciting because I successfully to post our own design webpage in internet although our webpage is not that interesting compare to other groups. YeapPea!!! Before that, I am admiring to the webmaster that creates the creative webpage and upload in the internet. Even now I had learned to create a webpage; I still admire them because I think this is not an easy job, we need to understand all the function of HTML codes and keep practicing in everyday life. On the other hand, if I am going to work on this assignment again, I will try to design the webpage as attractiveness as I can. For example, I will change our color background to a scenery background. Then, I will also add some interesting animations in our webpage to attract more people to view our webpage.

My first time in blogger...

This is the first time I try to post my comment in my first own blog. Before me taking this subject, I even just having Hotmail account, MSN account, and Friendster account, that’s it. Then, my friend recommends me to register an account in Facebook, but I reject because I think I already have an account in Friendster, so I will just focus on that particular account (may be I am a kind of lazy person… =P). Actually I was scared I can’t control myself of spending time in Facebook because majority of people said that Facebook is very interesting and entertaining. So, I try to control myself of not creating a new account in Facebook. Nowadays, majority of people were spending their time on Facebook, they can just sit still in front of their computer and playing Facebook for whole day. After I taking this subject, and finally, I create an account in Facebook, and then I join the cc106 group…lalala~ At the same time, I also had create a Google account to post my comment for my tutorial answer. Then, I was using my Google account to create a blog in blogger.com and a Bravehost account in the free website. As a result, I feel like after I taking this subject and I create until so many accounts…hahaha (just kidding, hope Miss won’t care about this). Actually this is also good to me, at least I can learn something new and I admit I’m still a new learner, just give me some times, I’ll catch it up asap.

My first time in blogger...
